I completed some of these engagements as an independent consultant; others were part of the client portfolios in my agency roles. Past clients in financial services include asset managers, asset owners, banks, financial technology startups, and industry associations, with engagements encompassing earned media, event management, market entries, M&A, fund launches, opinion surveys, crisis communications and a legislative proposal.
ADVISORS ASSET MANAGEMENT - Led agency team responsible for the brand audit and earned-media strategy for this distribution platform with annual asset sales of more than $15 billion.
AIRNET-21 - Managed message development, digital strategies and media relations for this legislative proposal for a $30 billion sustainable funding source for Northeast Corridor transportation infrastructure.
ALTO - Served as Senior Director of Content for this provider of self-directed IRAs for investors in alternative assets. Developed message platforms, website copy, and sales fact sheets for individual investors and RIAs.
BANK OF AMERICA - Served as the PR agency project leader for two financial community perception surveys. Provided counsel on message development to the media relations team for the Corporate and Investment Bank.
CAPITAL MARKET LABORATORIES - Managed communications, marketing and investor relations (IR) for the launch of this data visualization innovator founded by veterans of ESG pioneer GMI Ratings.
CLAYTON DUBILIER & RICE - Participated in transaction communications for several of the firm's leveraged buyouts. Helped produce a promotional video.
CREDIT BENCHMARK - Led consulting engagement to help this UK-based data science innovator enter the U.S. market. Positioned the firm’s “bank-sourced” credit data as an alternative to the Big Three credit rating agencies (aka NRSROs).
CEDAR CAPITAL - Led agency team responsible for broad-ranging engagement encompassing corporate positioning, the earned media strategy and transaction communications for this ETF strategist’s acquisition of the assets of F-Squared Investments.
EMERGING GLOBAL ADVISORS - Led agency team responsible for the earned-media strategy for this provider of strategic beta portfolios in emerging markets with about $1 billion in AUM. Managed communications for the firm’s acquisition by Columbia Threadneedle.
ETF SECURITIES - Led earned-media strategy in support of the firm’s entry into the U.S. market.
EXCEED INVESTMENTS - Led agency team responsible for the earned-media strategy for this innovator in defined-outcome investing, an investment discipline which shapes the potential outcomes of an existing index or security to fit pre-set protection and return levels.
FIDUCIARY TRUST - Led agency team with broad responsibilities for the U.S. earned media strategy, including communications for the appointment of the new CEO, campaigns targeting sustainability-minded clients, and a thought leadership program for the Chief Investment Officer and several departmental leaders.
FINCA INTERNATIONAL - Completed a pro bono media relations campaign for this network of microfinance institutions and banks worldwide. Secured a placement in Forbes: For The Black Sea State of Georgia, There's Economic Life Post-Russia.
MORGAN STANLEY - Completed peer-group audit for the firm’s technology organization gauging dominant themes in media coverage and corporate content focused on systemically disruptive innovations, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain and cryptocurrency, cybersecurity and cloud computing.
NEW STREAM CAPITAL - Represented the asset-based lender in two separate consulting engagements, initially focused on corporate communications, investor relations and market research, then on crisis communications related to regulatory and law enforcement probes.
REALITY SHARES - Led earned-media strategy for this ETF issuer and index provider.
RENAISSANCE CAPITAL - Played key role in an agency engagement encompassing opinion research, major announcements, and on-the-ground support at the Moscow headquarters.
SCHRODERS - Led agency team responsible for the North American earned-media strategy for this global asset management company. Generated extensive on-message coverage of several strategies (e.g., equity, fixed income, emerging markets, multi-asset, ESG, insurance-linked securities) and the 2016 International Media Day.
SCHULTZE ASSET MANAGEMENT - Led agency team responsible for the earned-media strategy for this $500 million hedge fund specializing in distressed assets and special situations.
TRUINDEPENDENCE - Led agency team responsible for the earned-media strategy for this premier consultancy for investment professionals seeking to launch independent firms.
VESTED - Served as a freelance content creation resource for FinTech clients in 2021.

ENERGY CONVERSION DEVICES - Served as the investor relations (IR) agency account manager with broad responsibilities for financial community surveys, corporate communications and quarterly earnings reporting.
INTERNET SECURITY SYSTEMS - Provided investor relations support for the IPO and conducted financial community perception surveys.
JUNO ONLINE SERVICES - After serving as the company's head of investor relations, I continued working closely with the ISP on quarterly earnings reports when I returned to consulting.
MCAFEE - Provided outsourced investor relations (IR) services, including message development, content creation and investor surveys for quarterly earnings reporting.
MELLANOX TECHNOLOGIES – Helped organize two Investor Day events for this multinational supplier of computer networking products.
SEMICONDUCTOR EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS INTERNATIONAL (SEMI) - Conducted two financial community perception surveys.

NEW YORK REGIONAL INTERCONNECT (NYRI) - Served as an agency account manager for this $2.1 billion project to build a 190-mile high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line across New York State.

Heads of State
So far, I’ve only worked with one head of state, but my doors are open for business. In my one and only professional experience with a government leader, I arranged introductory briefings with institutional investors for Frederick Jacob Titus Chiluba, president of Zambia from 1991 to 2002.
